Eyewear Selection

1. Laser’s specifications: output wavelength, power and operation mode.

2. Optical Density（OD）： Optical Density (OD) is a measure of the attenuation of energy passing through a filter. The higher the OD value, the higher the attenuation.

3. Level of protection EN207/EN208: The higher the LB value, the greater the protection level of eyewear.

4. Visible Light Transmittance（VLT): VLT below 20% should be used in well-illuminated working environments.

5. Frame: wear or do not wear prescription glasses, face-forming.

Cite an example of wavelength range from 950 to 1080 ( see illustration in above):
1, 950-1080 D LB6+IRM LB7: European laser safety regulation EN207 consider that Lasers operating at different modes have different power density characteristics and often different eyewear requirements. LB6 level of protection for Continuous Wavelength laser in mode D, LB7 level of protection for Pulsed laser in mode I, Giant Pulsed laser in mode R and the mode locked. EN207 accounts for the damage threshold which means that eyewear damaged hit by a given amount of energy.
2, ＞950-1080 OD7+: For this range of wavelength, laser energy passing through a filter attenuates 1/(10^7) and 59% light can pass through the lens. The color of filter is green in this case.
3, Frame number 38 is a regular model, with advantages of adjustable temples, comfortable fit over myopia glasses and side-shields for wide field of view.
